Who can apply to become a member?
Anyone can apply to become a Member. The Association publishes its quarterly magazine ‘O KATANALOTIS’ (The Consumer), which is posted to all members free of charge. All Members are also invited to attend the Annual General Meeting each year. This is an opportunity to put questions to the President, Board members, and members of the staff. Members can also vote in bi-annual Board elections. They can stand for election themselves provided that they have been members for the last six months. All Members receive a copy of the Annual Report and Accounts.
Why should I become a member?
- Because you don’t want to be a victim of fraudulent behavior
- Because you want to contribute to the improvement of the market conditions through your decisions as a consumer
- Because an association of consumers is stronger than each individual consumer
- Because the protection of consumers’ rights by the state should be strengthened
- Because transparency and information should be improved
- Because the authorities and the Parliament need to become more aware of consumers’ issues.
